Spring 2024 Service Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 2/5–5/9/24
- 8AM Pickup Location: Alewife Station “Taxi dropoff point”
- 5PM Pickup Location: CICS Loading Dock area
Ride Sign-up Protocol: On days you need a ride:
- Reserve your spot by filling out the form below at least 12 hours before pickup time.
- Show up at the pickup location on time.
***You may also show up unannounced at the pickup location on time and will be accommodated on a first-come basis if there is room, but please keep in mind that the service may not be operational on a service day if no one has signed up in advance.
Exception Handling:
- Excess demand days: If there are more passengers than capacity, priority will be given to faculty with teaching constraints, faculty living primarily or part-time in the Boston area, and then all faculty and staff on a first-come-first-serve basis. Family members of CICS folks are permitted if there is room after accommodating CICS folks.
- Afternoon-only days: In the rare event there are afternoon-only passengers, the passengers will be responsible for communicating that to the driver no later than 10AM that day. If you are unable to reach the driver, contact the emergency CICS contact.
- No-detour stops: If you wish to be picked up from a point along the way involving no detours, please enter your name + your desired pickup location in the same cell. The shuttle is tentatively expected to take Route2, so rest areas along Route2 are “no-detour” spots. Coordinate with the driver to ensure your request is not missed.
- On-demand midday rides: The driver may be available for rides to Boston from CICS on service days with an Amherst pickup between 10am-12pm at your own expense. Such trips are not covered by the driver’s contract with CICS.
Faculty signup on behalf of graduate students: Faculty can sign up on behalf of their graduate students or visitors keeping in mind the following:
- Sign up as “Faculty name/student name” so it is clear that you are signing up for your advisee.
- If a ride already has faculty passengers signed up for themselves, graduate students can join the ride if room permits on a first-come basis free of charge.
- If a ride is scheduled with only graduate students and no faculty, the faculty advisor(s) will be billed for the ride. We expect this cost to be $100 per day of use (round-trip or one-way), split across multiple faculty if applicable. Faculty can charge these to a grant or RTF as appropriate.
