CICS Placement Exam Registration (CSPE)

The CICS Placement Exam (CSPE) is a process whereby students with a unique background that is not documented on a transcript may take a short exam to establish appropriate placement in the CICS Introductory courses (CICS 110 or CICS 160). Note, students are only eligible for up to one attempt of the CSPE, so students who have taken a previous offering are not eligble to retake the CSPE.

Registration is REQUIRED.  Complete this form to request eligibility verification. 
This form CLOSES on Monday, January 23rd at 12:00 PM (NOON).  Late registrations will NOT be accepted.

The Spring 2023 exam is scheduled for a continuous 60-minute block during the 24-hour period between 12:00 PM (NOON) Thursday, January 26th and 12:00PM (NOON) Friday, January 27th. Students must begin before 11:00 AM to have the full 60-minute block to complete the exam. Any issues must be reported directly in on the Moodle page before the exam window closes. More details will be provided to eligible students.

A qualifying score means:
     1)  student is eligible for CICS 160, to be determined after evaluation of exams
     2)  no option for credit for any courses bypassed
     3)  no guarantee for seats in courses for Spring 2023
     4)  student remains eligible for a future offering via an override

Non-qualifying score means that student must take CICS 110.
